Amersham is hugely popular due to the excellent transport links with the M25 only 5.5 miles away and Heathrow less than 20 minutes.
Amersham train station in the heart of the town provides regular links to London via the London Underground (the Metropolitan Line) and overground trains. Commuting times allow you to be in Marylebone within 40 minutes.
Schools
The excellent state education makes Amersham very sought after for schooling including the renowned and ‘Outstanding’ Dr. Challenor’s Grammar Schools and the co-educational Chesham Grammar School.
At primary level there is Chesham Bois CofE school, Our Lady’s Catholic Primary School and Woodside Junior School all with fantastic Ofsted grading’s.
If you are looking at independent schooling, then Amerhsam boasts a great selection with The Beacon School (Boys) and Heatherton House (girls).
Eating Out
With the beautiful ‘Old Amersham’ as well as the new town, the options for eating out are excellent including the famous The Kings Arms and The Crown Hotel both locations used in the hit movie Four Weddings and a Funeral. Alongside this there are many independent eateries that make Amersham so popular.
Leisure
Both parts of the town have excellent shopping options as well a Little Waitrose, M&S Simply Food and a large Tesco. There is a brilliant Leisure Centre with 3 swimming pools and a rock-climbing wall.
For those with a love of the outdoors then Amersham is beautifully situated for walking in the gorgeous Chiltern Hills.
